Città di Castello, 17 September 2026 – CMC, a leading provider of automated on-demand packaging solutions, has announced the appointment of Claudio De Conto as Chair of CMC Group, the holding company for CMC’s global operations.
As Chair, Claudio will work closely with Francesco Ponti, Chief Executive Officer and President of CMC S.p.A, and will serve as an advisor to the Board of CMC S.p.A. In this newly created role, Claudio will leverage his experience to provide strategic counsel to CMC Group as the business continues to scale its commercial operations globally, invest in R&D and product development, and deliver innovative packaging solutions to customers around the world.
Claudio brings over three decades of executive and board-level experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive components and consumer goods across Italy and internationally. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Gnutti Carlo Group, a specialist in high-precision automotive components. Earlier in his career, Claudio spent more than two decades at Pirelli, rising to the position of General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. Claudio currently serves as Chair of Gridspertise and Star Capital SG, and holds Board positions at FAAC and LATI S.p.A.
