CMC Packaging Automation North America announces the opening of its innovative, 30,000 sq. ft. Tech Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The inaugural event took place on March 12th, 2024. It marked a milestone in CMC’s commitment to packaging and automation in the US market.
The North American business is a subsidiary of CMC Packaging Automation SpA, a leading supplier of fully automated right-sized packaging solutions. CMC partners with KKR’s Global Impact team and is backed by Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund.
Supporting packaging automation across North America
CMC North America began in 2013 with the first CMC CartonWrap machine. Since then, it has established itself as a leader in automated packaging. It has over 140+ machines installed nationwide and a dedicated team of 200 field engineers. Clients include major retailers, e-commerce businesses, 3PLs and logistics companies. Its systems help them improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase sustainability.
The new Tech Center will serve as a hub for experimentation, innovation and collaborative discussions. It welcomes both clients and technology partners. CMC continues to develop innovative solutions and explore materials that can further reduce environmental impacts in the changing logistics landscape.

Live demonstrations of packaging technology
At the opening, guests saw exclusive demonstrations of the latest innovations. The CMC CartonWrap Duo uses SKU dimensions and thicknesses to package items automatically. It produces right-sized boxes or corrugated envelopes on demand, at 900 packages per hour.
Visitors also saw the enhanced CMC Paper-PRO. With continuous induction, it creates ready-to-ship, right-sized paper bags at 3600 orders per hour. Both systems showcased CMC’s technology and precision engineering.
In addition, attendees had a preview of the CMC Genesys Combo demonstrated at Modex with integrated Nexus. This technology collaboration aims to set new benchmarks in packaging automation. Genesys Combo handles single and multi-line orders in the same machine, without pre-consolidation. With CMC Nexus, Genesys is the only fully automated right-sized packaging solution encompassing pick, pack and sorting.
